Freewill Is It Really Free?

When many look at or consider the act or purpose of freewill, they most often think of punishment for its use. Many think of freewill as a deception, as a trick by God – thinking in their hearts, why give it to me if you are going to punish me for using it?

Many of the young, now growing up without a true understanding of God, do not grasp the power of freewill.

With freewill, the workings of the universe can be reversed.

With freewill, the natural order of things can be altered to the supernatural.

With freewill God can change what was, to what you want it to be.

There is great power in your freewill. Sadly, most see the contrary. They see freewill only as a negative. They see it as a weapon against their soul that will, not might, but will eventually send them to hell. Seeing only the cost of freewill and not the reward.

So… Is freewill really free?

The answer is in how you use it.

Let us considered Hezekiah a man who was told by a prophet of God that he was going to die, and with his freewill Hezekiah changed the universe and the natural order of life and death.

Isaiah 38:1

In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came unto him, and said unto him, Thus saith the Lord, Set thine house in order; for thou shalt die, and not live.

Now, it is clear what should have happened. The king, Hezekiah should have died. He was given a warning from GOD, so that all could be made ready and there would be no disruption to the kingdom – in his passing.

BUT Hezekiah used his freewill.

Isaiah 38:2

2 Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed unto the LORD,

3 And said, Remember now, O LORD, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore

With his freewill Hezekaih pleaded with God to change his outcome. With his freewill the king reminded God that he of his own heart, obeyed

God and lived life according to what pleased God. Hezekiah used his freewill to walk before God, and now was using it for extra life.

Did this anger God? Did God see it as disobedient? Did God do as some accuse him of doing… did he punish Hezekaih for simply using freewill?

No! He blessed him!
